Waiya, Inaugurates Kano North and Kano South Executives of the Ex-APC Councillors Forum (Maslaha)

The Hon. Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, who doubles as the Grand Patron of the organization, today performed the formal inauguration of the Kano North and Kano South Executive Leadership of the APC Ex Councillors Forum (Maslaha), at Mumbayya House, Kano.

As the Grand Patron of the Forum, the Commissioner officiated the ceremony, which brought together former local government councillors, supervisors, and key stakeholders from the two senatorial districts of Kano North and Kano South respectively. The event marks a significant step in consolidating the Forum’s structure across the state following the earlier inauguration of the Kano Central executive leadership of the Forum.

The APC Ex Councillors Forum (Maslaha), serves as a critical platform for former elected councellors in Kano State.

The forum is dedicated to strengthening unity among members, promoting constructive dialogue, fostering development, and enhancing democratic participation of the people at the grassroot

The Forum prioritises inclusiveness, cooperation, and the pursuit of sustainable progress in the interest of the people of Kano State.

Speaking at the occasion, Comrade Waiya underscored the critical role of experienced grassroots political leaders in mobilising communities, promoting peaceful coexistence, and supporting government policies and programmes. He charged the newly inaugurated executives of Kano North and Kano South to provide purposeful leadership, deepen internal cohesion within the Forum, and work closely with other stakeholders towards advancing the shared goals of development and political stability.

The Commissioner further highlighted the importance of leveraging the collective experience of former councillors to strengthen democratic participation at the ward and local government levels. He reiterated the commitment of the Kano State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, to inclusive governance and continuous engagement with all critical stakeholders.

The inauguration was characterised by a strong sense of purpose, renewed commitments from members, and a collective resolve to contribute meaningfully to the development of Kano State, and ensure the return of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term in Kano State.

Comrade Waiya, expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the Forum for their dedication and commitment in promoting the policies and programmes of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf. He called on all members to remain focused, sincere, and united in the pursuit of the greater good of the people of Kano State.

The ceremony was well attended by members of the Forum from the two senatorial districts, party stakeholders, and other officials of the Kano State Government
