The APC candidate for Kano Central Senatorial District in the 2027 general elections, Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has urged party members in Tarauni Local Government to intensify grassroots mobilisation and voter education to ensure victory for the party.

Shekarau made the call on Wednesday while speaking at the inauguration of the APC Tarauni Local Government Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections, held at Fabs Event Centre, Kano.

He commended APC leaders in Tarauni for selecting what he described as hardworking and committed individuals to coordinate the party’s campaigns across all elective positions.

The former governor stressed the need for effective voter education, particularly among women, to ensure they understand how to identify and vote for the party during the elections.

He explained that voters would not see the photographs of individual candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, himself, Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji and Hon. Kabiru Dahiru Sule (ADS), on the ballot paper, but would instead be required to identify the APC logo.

“On election day, you will not see the faces of Tinubu, Abba, myself, Ja’oji or ADS on the ballot paper. What you will see is the APC logo. Therefore, we must sensitise our people, particularly our mothers, on how to correctly vote for our party,” he said.

Shekarau emphasised that every vote mattered and urged party members not to underestimate the importance of grassroots mobilisation and voter awareness.

He also offered prayers for members of the newly inaugurated campaign council, asking Almighty Allah to guide them and make their assignment successful.

The Kano Central senatorial candidate further expressed satisfaction with the interventions highlighted by the APC House of Representatives candidate for Tarauni Federal Constituency, Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji.

He said he was impressed by Ja’oji’s account of his contributions to the development of Tarauni and wished him success in his political ambition.

Shekarau called on party leaders, stakeholders and supporters to put aside their differences, work together and remain committed to securing victory for the APC in all elective positions in the 2027 general elections.
