The Rano Local Government Council and the Rano Emirate Council have jointly announced a ban on all forms of DJ music at ceremonies across the local government area, as part of efforts to promote moral values, especially among youths.
The decision, which forms part of a broader moral reorientation campaign, was disclosed by the Waziri of Rano, Alaramma Kabiru Sani, during an Islamic lecture on proper upbringing of youths, organized by the Rano Local Government Islamic Shari’a Council at the Rano Emir’s Palace.

emphasized the importance of the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith in shaping responsible behavior, lamenting that such values were increasingly being neglected in contemporary society, particularly among male and female youths.
He noted that the growing involvement of youths in DJ performances at weddings and social gatherings had contributed significantly to the decline in moral standards, adding that the ban was jointly agreed upon by the local government, the Emirate council and other security stakeholders.
According to him, the decision was taken in the interest of protecting the moral fabric of society and curbing activities considered harmful to proper upbringing.
The Waziri further stressed that proper upbringing begins from the choice of a righteous spouse, who would eventually become the mother of one’s children.
Also speaking at the event, Ustaz Aminu Abdulkadir identified the misuse of mobile phones by youths as one of the major destructive influences on moral development.
The District Head of Rano, Alhaji Adda’u Isah, represented by Alhaji Balarabe Adda’u Isah Rano, commended the Islamic Shari’a Council for organizing the lecture and pledged the full support of the Emirate for all activities aimed at strengthening Islamic teachings in the area.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Rano Local Government Islamic Shari’a Council, Malam Idris Garba Rano, disclosed that the lecture would be extended to all thirteen districts in the local government, with fifteen selected Islamic scholars, led by the Waziri of Rano Emirate Council, Alaramma Kabiru Sani.
He called on parents to take greater responsibility in the moral and religious upbringing of their children.
