n the spirit of Ramadan, Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, member representing Bakori/Danja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has distributed food items worth millions of naira to constituents across the area.
The distribution exercise, which took place in Katsina State, targeted vulnerable groups including widows, orphans, and other disadvantaged households across the 21 wards of Bakori and Danja Local Government Areas.
Speaking during the event, Dabai said the initiative was aimed at alleviating the hardship faced by residents, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan when many families struggle to meet basic needs.
He explained that to ensure transparency and fairness in the exercise, a distribution committee was constituted under the leadership of Abdullahi Isiyaku. The lawmaker charged members of the committee to discharge their responsibilities with the fear of Allah and cautioned against any diversion of the items meant for beneficiaries.
Dabai reassured constituents that his office remains open to suggestions and support that would contribute to the development of the constituency, pledging continued commitment to the welfare of the people.
Earlier, Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Abdullahi Isiyaku, disclosed that beneficiaries were carefully selected from all 21 wards in Bakori and Danja Local Government Areas to ensure equitable distribution.
He stated that priority was given to widows, orphans, vulnerable households, and other selected individuals in need, assuring that the committee would carry out its assignment with integrity and fairness. He also called on beneficiaries to cooperate fully to ensure a smooth process.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful. They commended the lawmaker for his support and urged other political office holders to emulate the initiative in order to ease the burden on struggling families during the Ramadan period.
