Parents Contribute To Cult Violence In Some Kano Communities – CP Bakori

The Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, has said some parents are contributing to the spread of cult-related violence in some communities within the state capital.

 

CP Bakori made the disclosure during a stakeholders’ meeting convened to address the persistent clashes involving suspected cult groups in Dandinshe, Gobirawa, Tudun Fulani and Silima communities of Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State.

 

The commissioner urged parents to pay close attention to the activities of their children and engage them regularly before problems escalate, stressing the need for parents to play an active role in preventing youth involvement in violent activities.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Security and Community Affairs, Ambassador Maimuna Umar Sharif, said collaboration between security agencies and residents was crucial to tackling cult-related violence and other security challenges.

She urged residents across Kano State, particularly those in communities and rural areas, to emulate the stakeholders’ meeting by coming together to identify problems affecting their areas and seek peaceful solutions to them.

 

A security official, Baba Lili Abdullahi, commended CP Bakori for his efforts towards addressing security challenges affecting residents of the state.

 

He said continuous engagement between security agencies and communities would help identify the causes of violence and enable stakeholders to develop effective measures to prevent further clashes.

 

The Commander of the Vigilante Group, Aminu Usman Kwot, also spoke on the security situation, while some residents of the affected communities highlighted the challenges they were facing and suggested measures to end the recurring violence.
