The serene atmosphere of the Kwankwasiyya City Jumaat Mosque came alive with joy and celebration as Umar Sunusi Maitalata, son of former Deputy Registrar of Kano Polytechnic, Malam Sunusi Maitalata, tied the knot with Zainab Musa in a colourful wedding ceremony attended by family members, friends, former colleagues and students.
The event drew dignitaries from different walks of life, including Malam Sunusi’s former students such as Jamal Ali Ahmed and Abbas Ibrahim, who joined hundreds of well-wishers to celebrate the union.
Also present were several of Malam Sunusi Maitalata’s former colleagues from Kano Polytechnic, many of whom described him as a disciplined administrator and committed educationist who contributed immensely to the institution during his years of service.
Some of his ex-students who spoke at the occasion recalled with nostalgia how Malam Sunusi guided them through their academic journey with firmness, dedication and fatherly advice, qualities they said shaped their lives positively.
The wedding ceremony featured prayers for peace, prosperity and a successful marital life for the newlywed couple, as guests showered them with goodwill and blessings.
Friends and associates of the family prayed for Umar and Zainab to enjoy a fruitful and harmonious marriage built on love, patience and mutual understanding.
