As political permutations ahead of the 2027 general elections continue to gather momentum in Kano State, the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been urged to field renowned businessman and politician, Ibrahim Ali Amin Little, as its gubernatorial candidate.

The call was made by a prominent member of the Kano business community and philanthropist, Alhaji Nasiru Hussain Agalawa, while addressing journalists on the recent emergence of the Waziri Adamawa, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as a presidential hopeful under the ADC.

Agalawa said the political atmosphere in Kano had reached a critical point where the state requires a leader with business acumen, political versatility, and a clearly defined vision capable of repositioning Kano on the path of sustainable development.

According to him, the emergence of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the APC governorship candidate and the reported determination of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso-led political bloc to field either Comrade Abdussalam or Nasiru Gawuna has further strengthened the need for the ADC to present a formidable and widely accepted candidate like Ibrahim Ali Amin Little.

He explained that members of the Kano business community have long desired the opportunity to see one of their own emerge as a major governorship contender, expressing confidence that Ibrahim Little possesses the leadership qualities, political experience, and grassroots appeal needed to transform Kano State.

Agalawa maintained that Ibrahim Little stands out among all the aspirants because of his deep understanding of governance, entrepreneurship, and youth development, adding that his candidacy would attract massive support across political, ethnic, and business divides.

According to him, if eventually given the ADC governorship ticket, Ibrahim Little would pose a serious challenge to both Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and any candidate presented by the Kwankwasiyya movement in the 2027 election.

“As journalists, you need to conduct opinion polls and political surveys across Kano to see the overwhelming support and undisputed chances of the ADC winning the governorship election with Ibrahim Ali Amin Little as its candidate,” Agalawa stated.

He further alleged that there were ongoing attempts by forces within the ruling APC, both at the national and state levels, to prevent Ibrahim Little from emerging as the ADC gubernatorial flag bearer through political surrogates and underground strategies.

Despite the alleged pressure, Agalawa expressed confidence in the leadership of the ADC, saying the party would ultimately make the right decision by handing the ticket to Ibrahim Little in the interest of Kano’s political and economic future.

He also claimed that another aspirant within the party was allegedly being sponsored to destabilize the ADC in Kano and weaken the chances of the party ahead of the elections.

The businessman reaffirmed the readiness of the Kano business community to mobilize support for Ibrahim Ali Amin Little and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as ADC governorship and presidential candidates respectively, describing their possible emergence as a new chapter in Nigeria’s democratic and economic development.

Observers believe the growing endorsements for Ibrahim Ali Amin Little reflect increasing calls for a new style of leadership in Kano — one driven by economic reforms, youth empowerment, and inclusive governance.
