Dr. Mani Tsoho Condoles Victims, Commends Governor Yusuf, Security Agencies Over Response.
The Executive Chairman of Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State, Dr. Mani Tsoho, has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathy to residents of Lakyawa Ward following reports of an overnight security incident involving suspected bandits in the community.
Dr. Mani Tsoho expressed his condolences to the victims and families affected by the incident, describing the development as unfortunate and deeply distressing.
He said the incident had once again underscored the importance of sustained cooperation between communities, local authorities and security agencies in confronting emerging security challenges.
The chairman made the remarks while speaking with newsmen shortly after receiving reports about the situation in Lakyawa Ward.
He said his administration was deeply concerned about the safety and wellbeing of residents and would continue to work with relevant authorities to ensure that affected communities receive the necessary attention.
He prayed for Allah Almighty to grant mercy to anyone who may have lost his or her life, while also wishing those affected by the incident strength and recovery.
He extended his sympathy to families whose homes, livelihoods or properties may have been affected by the unfortunate development.
Dr. Mani Tsoho appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid actions capable of worsening the situation.
He stressed that community cooperation, accurate information and responsible communication are essential to preventing fear and misinformation from spreading during periods of heightened security concern.
The Gwarzo council chairman commended the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, FNISE, for what he described as his sustained commitment and tireless efforts towards strengthening security and protecting the lives and property of citizens across the state.
According to him, the state government’s continued support for security operations demonstrates the administration’s determination to work with relevant institutions in addressing security challenges and creating an environment where citizens can live and conduct their legitimate activities without fear.
Dr. Mani Tsoho also commended members of the Joint Security Task Force and other security personnel operating within the area for their efforts in responding to security threats and maintaining peace.
He urged the security agencies to sustain their vigilance and strengthen collaboration with local communities.
The chairman particularly appealed to residents to become active partners in community security by promptly reporting suspicious movements, unfamiliar persons and other activities that could constitute a threat to lives and property.
He emphasized that early and credible information remains one of the most effective ways communities can assist security agencies in preventing attacks and responding quickly to emerging threats.
“Security is a collective responsibility.
Government and security agencies cannot succeed alone without the cooperation of the people.
I therefore appeal to our people to remain vigilant and provide timely information to the appropriate security authorities whenever they notice anything suspicious,” the chairman said.
He further called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders, youth organizations and other stakeholders to strengthen their efforts towards maintaining peaceful coexistence and encouraging residents to cooperate with lawful security measures.
Dr. Mani Tsoho assured the people of Lakyawa Ward and other communities within Gwarzo Local Government that the council administration would continue to engage with the state government and security agencies over the situation.
He said additional interventions and necessary support would be pursued to assist affected residents, strengthen community resilience and promote the restoration of confidence and normalcy in the area.
The chairman also urged residents not to take the law into their own hands, stressing that security challenges require coordinated and lawful responses rather than actions that could expose innocent people to further danger.
He appealed to the people of Gwarzo Local Government to remain united, vigilant and supportive of the security agencies, while assuring them that the local government would continue to place the protection of lives and property among its foremost responsibilities.
Dr. Mani Tsoho concluded by praying for Allah Almighty to restore lasting peace and security to Lakwaya Ward, Gwarzo Local Government and Kano State, while expressing confidence that through cooperation, vigilance and sustained government intervention, communities could overcome the challenges confronting them.
