The death has occurred of Saleh Shehu Ashaka, a former staff member of the defunct Voice of America (VOA) Hausa Service.
According to his father, Alhaji Shehu Ashaka, Saleh passed away on Sunday at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness. His death marks a painful loss to his family, colleagues, and all who knew him.
Saleh is survived by his two wives and a child. He will be laid to rest on Monday in Cairo in accordance with Islamic rites.
Meanwhile, sympathizers, friends, and well-wishers have continued to troop to his family residence at Farm Centre to offer condolences to his father and the bereaved family during this difficult time.
