Dr. Muhammed Musa Zango, popularly known as Fatah, has declared his intention to contest the Kano Central Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He made the declaration at a ceremony in Kano, saying the decision followed extensive consultations and years of grassroots engagement.

Fatah said he has been involved in supporting small-scale traders since 2003, providing startup capital to promote self-reliance, adding that the experience informed his decision to seek political office.

He said effective representation requires listening to constituents and converting their needs into legislative action that improves living standards.

The senatorial aspirant unveiled a seven-point agenda which includes improved representation at the National Assembly through people-oriented bills for Kano State, agricultural development, and youth and women empowerment through skills acquisition and support programmes.

He also pledged attention to healthcare improvement, infrastructure development including road rehabilitation, revival of the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project, and provision of clean water in rural and urban communities.

Fatah further called for the revitalisation of Kano’s textile industry, describing it as key to economic recovery and job creation.

He said his ambition is driven by the desire to deliver meaningful development to Kano Central if elected.

His entry into the race is expected to heighten political competition in the district ahead of the 2027 polls.
