The two weeks 2026 Nigeria football federation President Pre Season soccer tournament tagged Gusau/Ahlan on Thursday came to an glorious end at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium Katsina State.
The tournament had featured 16 football teams from across the country.
The final match was between Ranchers Bees football club of Kaduna and Kwara United football club of Ilorin, Kwara State.
The Ranchers Bees football club of kaduna emerged champions after beating Kwara United football club 7-6 via penalty, after playing goaless draw at the end of regulation time.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda of Katsina State represented by the commissionior ministry of youth and sport Engineer Surajo Abukur, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON, some board members of the NFF and over twenty five States football Association Chairmen from across the country graced the final.
Presenting the trophy to the champions, the NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON congratulated the teams and commended the organizing committee for a job well done.
Alhaji Gusau thanked Katsina State government and the good people of the state and all those that contributed in one way or the other towards making the tournament a hitch free and successful event.
The presentations of awards to some individuals and organizations were made to round up the tournament and among the awardees includes Governor Umar Dikko Radda, Katsina State Commissioner of youth and Sport Engineer Surajo Yazid Abukur, Katsina State football Association, and Asst foundation Katsina.
Earlier before the final match NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON led some NFF board members and over 25 states football Association Chairmen to pay courtesy visit to Governor Umar Dikko Radda at Government House Katsina State, during the visit, Governor Radda endorsed Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau MON candidature in the forthcoming NFF election next month.
Governor Dikko Radda thanked the NFF President and local organizing committee of the tournament under the Jigawa State football Association Chairman Alhaji Sabo Abdullahi for granting the State the opportunity to host the tournament.
He assured them of the state goverment’s support whenever the need arises, he assured them to always feel at home whenever they are in Katsina State.
