The city of Kano lit up with vibrant lights during the launch of Maltina’s “Ramadan Light-Up” initiative, a special program designed to welcome the holy month of Ramadan.

The ceremony took place at the Kano Emirate Palace, Kofar Kudu, and brought together government officials, community leaders, and residents of the city.

Federico agressi Director Technology at Maltina, explained that the program aims to highlight the spiritual significance of Ramadan as a time for worship, compassion, and unity within the community, especially through shared iftar moments. He added that the illuminated decorations will remain throughout the fasting month as a symbol of welcome and to promote communal harmony.
The launch coincided with Maltina’s 50th anniversary, emphasizing Ramadan’s cultural importance, particularly to the people of Kano. The initiative forms part of the broader “Nourishment Fit for Ramadan” campaign, which encourages healthy eating and the communal spirit of breaking fast together.

Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, Deputy Governor of Kano State, represented by the Chairman of Kwari Market, Hamisu Sa’adu Dogon Nama, praised Maltina for its role in creating employment opportunities for young people across the state. He expressed the government’s gratitude for choosing Kano as the host city for this philanthropic initiative.

His Royal Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, represented by Kano Palace official Bashir Mahe, also lauded Maltina for promoting cultural heritage and enhancing the state’s image. He highlighted that the initiative fosters youth employment and the preservation of traditional values.

Participants at the event expressed excitement and appreciation for the initiative. One Kano-based entrepreneur said:
“It is a proud moment to see Maltina unite the community and light up the city for Ramadan. This will strengthen bonds and promote peace among us.”
Residents also commented:

“The program shows how Maltina supports the community through culture and local traditions. This is a commendable effort that deserves recognition.”

Maltina celebrated Ramadan with Muslims across the country, wishing them peace and blessings throughout the holy month. The initiative is part of the company’s ’ broader corporate social responsibility efforts to honor cultural and religious occasions across Nigeria.
