The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Tarauni Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji, has pledged to prioritise education, healthcare, youth and women empowerment if elected into the House of Representatives.

Ja’oji made the pledge on Wednesday during the inauguration of the APC Tarauni Local Government Campaign Council for the 2027 presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections, held at Fabs Event Centre in Kano.

He described education as the foundation of sustainable development, promising to make it the major focus of his legislative agenda.

“Education will come first, second and third in my development agenda,” he said.

The APC candidate said he had supported hundreds of students in tertiary institutions through the payment of registration fees, while thousands of others benefited from the payment of WAEC, JAMB and NECO examination fees through the M. Nasir Foundation.

He also disclosed that he facilitated ICT and computer literacy training for hundreds of youths in Tarauni to equip them with relevant digital skills.

On empowerment, Ja’oji said he recently distributed 100 motorcycles and provided N125 million in cash grants to 2,500 beneficiaries across the 10 wards of Tarauni Federal Constituency.

He added that in 2024, he implemented a N50 million empowerment programme for 1,000 youths and women, with each beneficiary receiving N50,000 to support small-scale businesses.

He further disclosed that he donated N88 million to the Kano APC Youth Coalition to strengthen youth participation and advance the party’s activities in the state.

On healthcare, Ja’oji said he had consistently assisted patients by paying hospital bills and providing financial support to vulnerable families.

He cited an estimate by Triumph Newspaper, which put the cumulative value of his hospital bill interventions at nearly N2 billion.

He also said he furnished a hospital constructed in Tarauni and organised free medical outreach programmes to improve access to healthcare services.

Other interventions he listed included a N10 million donation to traders affected by the fire outbreak at Farm Centre GSM Market, the construction of boreholes in Darmanawa and road rehabilitation in the Dan Tsinke area.

He said he also facilitated the installation of solar-powered streetlights in some communities to improve security and provided a dedicated vehicle for conveying deceased persons to burial grounds.

On religious activities, the candidate disclosed that he sponsored 60 people to perform Umrah and regularly distributed food items to residents during Ramadan, irrespective of their political affiliations.

He added that he purchased 12 vehicles for distribution to APC structures at the local government, ward and caucus levels to strengthen the party’s grassroots activities.

Speaking on his emergence as the APC candidate, Ja’oji said he secured the party’s ticket through a consensus arrangement on May 15, 2026, supervised by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.

According to him, 16 out of 19 stakeholders from the constituency endorsed his candidacy, a development he said had helped promote political understanding and stability in Tarauni.

He urged members of the newly inaugurated campaign council to demonstrate unity, discipline and commitment in mobilising support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ja’oji also called on party members to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, stressing that collective efforts were necessary to achieve electoral success.

He assured the people of Tarauni that, if elected, he would expand his interventions in education, healthcare, economic empowerment, youth and women development.

He added that his ambition was to ensure that residents of the constituency had better opportunities to improve their living conditions and contribute meaningfully to society.
