Dr Muhammad Hamisu UK, a candidate for the House of Representatives representing Gwale Federal Constituency under the platform of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has outlined plans to promote youth and women empowerment as well as create employment opportunities in the area.

Dr UK said his vision was to ensure that young people and women have access to relevant skills, resources and opportunities that would enable them to become self-reliant and contribute to the socio-economic development of Gwale.

He said the proposed agenda would include support for skills-acquisition programmes designed to equip young people with practical skills that could help them secure employment or establish businesses.

He also identified employment creation as a key area of focus, through initiatives aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and sustainable sources of income.

On women empowerment, Dr UK said emphasis would be placed on vocational training, support for small businesses and opportunities for women to establish and expand their businesses.

He added that vocational and digital skills would also receive attention, particularly training that could equip young people with modern skills and open up new economic opportunities.

According to him, small businesses and entrepreneurs would also be supported to expand their operations, with the potential to create additional employment opportunities within the community.

Dr UK further said effective representation should be people-centred, with elected representatives listening to the concerns of constituents and working to attract development programmes and economic opportunities to different parts of Gwale.

He said his vision was centred on creating opportunities, promoting new ideas and supporting initiatives that could contribute to a better future for the people of Gwale.
