It’s shameful for the current global leaders to not allow the world to live in peace and harmony and it seems that has been as a result of economic, political and social dominance. This writing understands that selfishness and egocentric tendency has been the root causes of not allowing the human world to enjoy the peace and harmonious political, economic and social development in the world; especially in the Global Southern Hemisphere.
The only people that are living in peace, harmonies and progress are the 450m people of the global Northern Hemisphere. There’s only 20% of global population in the Global North while the remaining 80% out of 8.4B of global population lives in Global Southern Hemisphere; India, China and Africa each with 18% of global population one can describe them as a global labourers with less than 40% of global economies, insecurities, poverty, Illiteracies and poor healthcare system as well as unproductive population; especially in Africa with less than 5% of global economy and $600B worth of debts mostly from World Bank/IMF.

In his book Professor George Friedman (The Next 100 Years, 2009) says that “America has 4% of global population and has 26% of global economy while China with 1.4B population has only 5% of global economy.” So, China can be seen as a global laborer although they are living in peace, security, economic growth and development. Hence, what of next years to come which seems to be unpredictable.
According to some global analysts the question of why global leaders struggle to achieve peace and harmony is complex. Some possible factors contributing to this include as follows:
*National Interests:
Leaders often prioritize their country’s interests, which can lead to conflicts with other nations.
*Power Dynamics:
The pursuit of power and influence can drive leaders to pursue aggressive policies, creating tension and conflict in some parts of the world. The current regional war between USA/Israel/Iran in the Middle East that plunges the world into energy crises, economic meltdown, tatters and precarity has been an excellent example. Hence, global leaders must be extra careful the year 2027 is not 1950 (the projection of global population in 1950 was between 2.5 to 3B while the current projection has been around 8.4B).
*Economic Competition:
Global economic competition can lead to trade wars, sanctions, and other forms of economic coercion, exacerbating tensions.
*Ideological Differences:
Differing ideologies and values can create divisions between nations, making it difficult and challenging to find common ground.
*Examples:
The US-China rivalry is driven by competing values, interests, ambition as well as ideologies; especially on leadership, economic interplay, science, technology and innovation, particularly weaponry.
*The Russia-Ukraine:
conflict is rooted in territorial disputes and power struggles. Also, current Middle East conflicts involve complex issues like territorial disputes, resources, and as mentioned above ideological differences. Also, the issue of nuclear power possessions.
*Possible Solutions—–
Diplomacy and Dialogue:
Encouraging open communication, mediation and negotiation can help resolve conflicts. The egocentric bypassing of America’s negotiations and mediation on dialogue with Iran (by the leaders of Oman) that was what led to the current global energy crises that led the world into the current global economic hardships.
*International Cooperation:
Strengthening international institutions and cooperation can promote peace and stability in the world.
*Addressing Root Causes:
Tackling issues like insecurity, poverty eradication, inequality, economic precarity and resource scarcity that can reduce tensions and crises in the world. If the world can get sincere, honest, focus, knowledgeable, peace loving leadership; even if the current global population of about 8.4B can double to 16.8B global population this human planet is enough for everyone to live in peace, harmony, economic growth and development.
